The Basarin 2021 has an aromatic profile of cherry, roses, herbs, and subtle mineral undertones. On the palate, the wine is energetic, taut, and precise, with firm yet refined tannins and a long-lasting, mineral finish.
Vinification.
Manual harvest, followed by spontaneous fermentation and long maceration. The wine ages for 18–22 months in barriques (mostly used wood) for structure and refinement. This is followed by bottle aging, which helps to make the tannins round and harmonious.
The domain.
Basarin is located on a historic hill between Neive and Treiso and is known for its cool, elegant style. Sottimano uses traditional methods, natural yeast cultures, and minimal intervention, ensuring the wines remain a pure expression of terroir and grape.
