Krug Vintage 2008 is a monumental vintage Champagne with a distinct structure and concentration, but always with the typical Krug elegance and precision. The nose reveals ripe citrus, candied orange peel, white peach, and almond, followed by brioche, honey, and a clear, stony minerality. On the palate, the wine is compact and layered: a fine mousse "dissolves" into the texture, with a deep core of fruit, impressive tension, and a long, saline finish that lingers for minutes.

Winemaking.
The cuvée is assembled parcel by parcel from wines of the 2008 vintage. A portion of the base wines is traditionally vinified and aged in oak barrels to impart texture and complexity without masking the fruit. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the traditional method. Krug allows its vintages to age on the lees for a very long time (more than 10 years) before disgorgement, which gives the wine its characteristic depth, brioche notes, and silky integration. The dosage is kept low in brut style (around 5 g/l, depending on the disgorgement batch).

The domain.
Maison Krug (founded in 1843) belongs to the absolute top tier of Champagne and is known for a unique, uncompromising approach: maximum selection, an enormous library of reserve wines, and a style that is always “vinous” and gastronomic, with more emphasis on structure and complexity than on pure fruit. The house style is built on precision and patience: slow maturation, minimal concessions, and a constant focus on harmony and length. Krug Vintage is their interpretation of a single vintage, only made when the house believes the year can carry a distinct, unique signature and ripen worthy of the highest level. Since 2024, their own vineyards (approximately 20% of production) have been organically certified, and they support their partners in achieving this certification by 2030.
