Giulia Negri calls herself a "Barologirl" and thereby implicitly sets herself apart from the male-dominated wine world in Piedmont. She believes in a mix of tradition and innovation, where respect for the fruit and nature plays an important role.
Her vineyards are located in Serradenari, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the highest areas in the region. She makes the wine in her garage, because, like a mechanic, she sees herself adjusting and "tuning" things to achieve the best possible result.
Deep, ruby red color with a purple hue. Red and black berries, cherries, herbs, and a slightly animal note on the nose. Full body, medium tannins, and pronounced acidity. Creamy fruit, vegetal notes, light oak, and spiciness on the palate. Medium finish.
Manual harvest, aged for 16 months in 350-liter French oak tonneaux.
Pairs perfectly with red meat, hearty vegetable dishes, and mushroom dishes. Decant at least an hour beforehand, still drinkable for at least the next five years.
