Flaccianello della Pieve 2020 is an iconic and deeply concentrated Sangiovese that reflects the essence of the Panzano terroir in its purest form. On the nose, intense aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, and blueberry, interwoven with violets, graphite, tobacco, and subtle spiciness. On the palate, the wine is powerful and perfectly balanced, with a velvety texture, vibrant acidity, and extremely refined yet firm tannins. The finish is exceptionally long and layered, with an impressive harmony between fruit, structure, and minerality.

Vinification.
The grapes are hand-harvested and strictly selected from the best plots around the historic Pieve of Panzano. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, followed by a long maceration for maximum extraction of color, aroma, and structure. The wine then ages for approximately 24 months in new and used French oak barriques, after which it undergoes a long period of bottle aging before release. This aging process gives Flaccianello its characteristic depth, complexity, and enormous aging potential.

The domain.
Fontodi is one of Tuscany's most renowned wineries and is managed entirely organically. The estate is located in the Conca d'Oro of Panzano, where altitude, calcareous soils, and cool nights are ideal for Sangiovese of great finesse.
