Origin: Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
Appellation: Vosne-Romanée AOC
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Alcohol percentage: 13%
Style: Refined and layered, red fruit, spicy, floral and mineral
Aging potential: Now until 2034+

An elegant and precise red Burgundy that beautifully combines the charm of Vosne-Romanée with freshness and detail. The nose reveals cherries, raspberries, and red currants, complemented by violets, fine spices, and a subtle earthy undertone. On the palate, the wine is smooth and refined, with a beautiful core of pure red fruit, fine tannins, and a lively tension that provides length and precision. The style is more transparent and energetic than powerful, with a long, clean finish where fruit, spice, and minerality come together beautifully.

Vinification.
Le Pré de la Folie is a village cuvée made in a precise and low-intervention style, with great attention to fruit purity and terroir expression. The vinification aims to preserve finesse, tension, and aromatic clarity, rather than emphasizing extraction or power. Aging takes place in oak barrels, with a restrained use of new wood, giving the wine extra texture and depth without losing its elegance or fruit expression. This results in a Pinot Noir with suppleness, detail, and a very refined Burgundian signature.

The domain.
Domaine Edouard Confuron is a young, small-scale producer from Vosne-Romanée who has quickly made a name for himself with refined and terroir-driven Burgundies. Edouard Confuron works with a clear focus on energy, precision, and elegance, and his wines typically show great purity and transparency. Even in the more classic appellations, this style remains recognizable: clear fruit expression, finesse in the structure, and a clear link to the origin.

In terms of sustainability, the domain works traditionally and plot-by-plot, with great attention to healthy grapes and careful monitoring in the vineyard. The approach is deliberately restrained, with as few unnecessary interventions as possible, so that the character of the grape and terroir is preserved as purely as possible. In the cellar, too, the emphasis is on precision and sobriety, resulting in wines with great purity and a very direct expression of terroir.
