A vibrant and accessible red Burgundy that beautifully combines charm, freshness, and precision. The nose displays fresh aromas of cherry, raspberry, and red currant, complemented by a subtle floral note and slight spiciness. On the palate, it is juicy and clear, with supple red fruit, fine tannins, and an energetic acidity that provides tension and drinking pleasure. The style is elegant and uncomplicated, but with enough seriousness and terroir expression to clearly rise above a purely simple entry-level wine.
Vinification.
This cuvée is a Bourgogne Pinot Noir with a clear focus on pure fruit; the vinification is precise and restrained, with great attention to preserving freshness and aromatic clarity. The wine ages in oak barrels with only a limited proportion of new wood, so that the fruit remains central and gains extra texture without the wood dominating the wine. The result is a Pinot Noir with suppleness, freshness, and a refined Burgundian signature.
The Domain.
Domaine Edouard Confuron is a young, small-scale producer from the Côte de Nuits who has quickly made a name for himself with refined, terroir-driven Burgundies. Edouard Confuron has developed a clear personal style, with a strong emphasis on energy, precision, and elegance. His wines are typically transparent and refined, with a strong focus on terroir expression and a restrained, precise cellar approach.
In terms of sustainability, the domain clearly works traditionally and parcel-by-parcel, with great attention to the character of the vineyards and a cautious approach in the cellar. The emphasis is on healthy grapes, careful monitoring in the vineyard, and as few unnecessary interventions as possible, so that the wine's origin emerges clearly and purely.
