Grands-Échézeaux 2019 from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a monumental Pinot Noir that exceptionally harmoniously combines power and precision. The nose reveals layers of black cherry, blackberry, and ripe raspberry, complemented by rose petals, orange peel, exotic spices, and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is full and concentrated, with broad shoulders yet a remarkably refined texture. The tannins are ripe and powdery, the tension remains intact, and the finish is long, serene, and impressively complex, with a lingering spicy and mineral depth.

Vinification.
The grapes are hand-harvested and strictly selected. Fermentation traditionally occurs with indigenous yeasts and whole bunches, with a long cuvaison to build depth and structure without harshness. The wine then matures for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels (predominantly new), after which it is bottled without excessive treatment and further refines in the bottle before release.

The domain.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is among the absolute elite of the wine world, owning a unique series of grand crus in Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Échézeaux. The estate combines extremely strict selection with an uncompromising, traditional approach entirely focused on terroir expression, finesse, and longevity. In the vineyards, work is carried out with great care and environmental awareness, with a strong focus on soil health, biodiversity, and minimal intervention, ensuring that these exceptional parcels retain their character in the long term.
