Domaine Chandon de Briailles Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru “Les Lavières” 2022 is a refined and terroir-driven red Burgundy that beautifully combines elegance, freshness, and mineral precision. The nose reveals cherries, raspberries, and violets, complemented by delicate spices and a subtle stony undertone. On the palate, the wine is juicy and precise, with bright red fruit, vibrant acidity, and fine tannins that provide tension and length. The style is classic and energetic, with a clear chalky note in the finish and a beautiful balance between charm and seriousness.

Winemaking.
Les Lavières is a Premier Cru climate with a calcareous soil that gives the wine its typical tension, precision, and refinement. At Domaine Chandon de Briailles, winemaking follows a gentle and low-intervention approach, with great respect for the character of the plot and vintage. The wine matures in wooden barrels, mainly used wood, so that the focus remains on the fruit, texture, and mineral precision rather than the wood. This results in a Pinot Noir with depth, finesse, and a very transparent terroir expression.

The Estate.
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a historic estate in Savigny-lès-Beaune and is one of the established references of the Côte de Beaune. It owns vineyards in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, and Corton, among others, and is known for a style that is pure, transparent, and strongly terroir-driven. The wines typically combine finesse, energy, and aging potential, with a clear focus on the individuality of each plot.

In terms of sustainability, the estate has been working organically and biodynamically for many years, with great attention to living soils, biodiversity, and the natural balance in the vineyard. They deliberately practice restraint in treatments, and in some plots, draft horses are used to limit soil compaction. In the cellar, this philosophy seamlessly aligns, with a sober and precise approach that involves as little intervention as possible to maximally preserve the character of the grape, vintage, and terroir.
