Château d’Yquem 2022 is an impressive and concentrated Sauternes that brings together richness, precision, and tension at an exceptional level. On the nose, the wine opens with apricot, candied citrus, pineapple, peach, and orange peel, complemented by honey, floral notes, and a subtle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and lush, with intense aromatic depth and a luxurious texture, yet also with sufficient freshness to keep everything perfectly balanced. The sweetness is rich and layered without being heavy, while the finish remains long, refined, and remarkably energetic. This is a grand Yquem with power, detail, and enormous aging potential.

Vinification.
The harvest is done in several passes through the vineyard, selecting only grapes perfectly affected by noble rot. The final blend consists of 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The 2022 vintage is characterized by high concentration, sunny richness, and at the same time a remarkably clear structure. As always with Yquem, the selection is extremely strict, which contributes to the exceptional purity, intensity, and length of the wine.

The estate.
Château d’Yquem is undoubtedly one of Bordeaux's most iconic wine estates and is considered the absolute reference for Sauternes. The estate built its reputation on noble sweet wines of exceptional concentration, complexity, and longevity, with terroir, botrytis, and extremely strict selection at its core. Yquem's style combines richness and intensity with remarkable precision, finesse, and freshness, making its wines unique within the appellation.

Since 2021, they have been organically certified, making 2022 their first organic edition! In terms of sustainability, the estate operates with a distinct long-term vision, focusing on respect for the soil, ecosystem, and vineyard. Much attention is paid to biodiversity, careful plot management, and maintaining the natural balance in and around the vineyards. In the cellar, the working method remains extremely precise and selective, ensuring that only the very best fruit finds its way into the final wine.
