Chateau Montus is the "more serious" sibling of Bouscassé. By adding more Tannat to the blend, you get a slightly tighter and more austere wine (when young). Tannat - tannin...
Hand-picked grapes, aged for 36 months - 40% of which in new oak barrels.
Deep ruby red color with purple hues. Plum, blackberry, licorice, tobacco, vanilla, and some coffee on the nose. Oak aging gives Tannat a more pronounced spicy character. Medium to full-bodied, long finish.
