The Chassagne-Montrachet "La Bergerie" 2022 opens with aromas of ripe citrus, white peach, almond, and a hint of spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with a beautiful tension between ripe fruit, creamy texture, and fresh acidity. The finish is long and sustained by a distinct chalky minerality.
Vinification.
After manual harvesting, the grapes are pressed immediately. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new wood to add extra complexity. The wine ages in barrels for approximately 12 months, followed by a resting period of about 6 months in stainless steel to maintain precision and freshness, then bottle aging.
The domain.
Darviot-Perrin owns several plots in Chassagne-Montrachet and works here according to the same philosophy as in Meursault: sustainable vineyard care, minimal intervention, and a classic, refined maturation. "La Bergerie" is an expressive yet elegant Chassagne, in which power and finesse are perfectly balanced.
