The ripe fruit is supported by fresh acidity, fine but present tannins and a pronounced mineral structure that provides length and tension. The finish is long, layered and intense, with a beautiful combination of volume, energy and terroir expression. Whole clusters are used, except in years when hail or frost makes this less suitable. This is followed by ageing for approximately 15 to 18 months in 228-liter oak barrels, the majority of which are used barrels and only a limited portion new wood.
